Swimming is one of my favorite summer activities! It’s a great workout and it’s also really fun. There are so many different strokes to learn and practice, and it’s a great way to stay cool in the summer heat. If you don’t know how to swim, there are plenty of classes available to help you learn.
2. Water Balloon Toss
Water balloon toss is a great way to cool off and have some friendly competition. All you need is a water balloon and a friend or family member to play with. You just have to fill up water balloons and tie them off and make sure you have an equal number of balloons for each person playing. Stand across from your partner and start tossing! If you catch the balloon, your partner is out. The last person standing is the winner! And, if the balloon pops, you’re both out!
3. Sprinkler Fun
Turning on the sprinklers and running through them is a classic summertime activity! It’s also a great way to cool off on a hot day. If you don’t have a sprinkler, you can always just use the hose. Just be sure to supervise younger children so that they don’t get hurt.
4. Water Gun Fight
Water gun fights are always a blast! They’re also a great way to cool off and have some fun competition. Just make sure you have enough water guns for everyone playing, and fill them up with water before you start. The person who runs out of water first is the loser!
5. Slip ‘n Slide
Slip ‘n slides are a ton of fun, and they’re also a great way to cool off on a hot day. If you don’t have a slip ‘n slide, you can easily make one with a tarp and some water. Just lay the tarp out, wet it down, and you’re ready to go! Or you can rent a inflatable water slide to add more fun.
6. DIY Water Park
Turn your backyard into a water park with this fun activity! All you need is a hose, some pool noodles, and a little imagination. Set up some obstacles and challenges using the pool noodles, and then use the hose to create a water slide!
7. Beach Day
I love to be in shape for beach days. I like to spend my days at the beach playing volleyball, swimming, and relaxing in the sun. Spending a day at the beach is a great way to relax, have fun, and cool off. Don’t forget to pack your sunscreen, swimsuit, and snacks!
8. Fishing
Fishing is a great way to relax and enjoy the outdoors. It’s also a great way to teach kids about patience and responsibility. One of my favorites while fishing is to gain more new friends. If you don’t know how to fish, there are plenty of classes and resources available to help you learn. You can even do boat fishing, which is really cool.
9. Water Balloon Dodgeball
This fun twist on classic dodgeball is sure to be a hit with the whole family! All you need is a water balloon and a group of friends or family members. Divide into two teams and have each team line up on opposite sides of a designated playing area. One player from each team throws the balloon at the other team. If a player catches the balloon, they can throw it back at the other team. The first team to eliminate all of the players on the other team wins!
