Creative Baptism Party Ideas for Backyard Reception

1. Sweet Sheep Theme

If your child is a sheep lover like mine, think about hosting an adorable “Sheep in Sheep’s Clothing” Christening Party. This theme would be perfect for any baby being baptized during the Fall or Winter months. Invite guests to wear brown and white clothing with fake fur accents. Be sure to have stuffed animals on display throughout the party which can double as gifts for children attending!

Include sheep-related games and activities such as “Sheep Says” for kids. Set up a ring toss with stuffed animals on the back of each shepherd’s staff or create an obstacle course using plush animal figures! Let guests take home their choice of brown or white chocolate wrapped in clear plastic bags to resemble fleece wool. If you are looking for some cookie decorating inspiration, check out this link (Baptism Cookie Toppers) which includes examples like lamb cookies decorated with pink frosting and sprinkles. You can also make these adorable wine bottle covers!

Of course, no party is complete without food & drinks! Food should include both sweet treats like cupcakes decorated like tiny lambs (with angel wings!) and savory snacks like mini sandwiches decorated with fleece-like cheese. Serve your guests sparkling grape juice in plastic wine glasses to resemble champagne.

2. Nautical Theme

Create a nautical-themed party by hanging blue and white bunting from the walls. You can add in some life preservers, inflatable beach toys, or even plastic fish to give it that extra touch of whimsy! Try having your guests wear sailor hats during their photoshoot with you at this fun-filled celebration. This is an especially great idea if there’s going to be a large number of children attending your baptism reception – they’ll have a blast making believe they’re on vacation somewhere else!

In addition, set up some tables out back where people can sit together for lunch or dinner after walking around taking all those commemorative photos inside. To keep things festive looking instead of boring picnic style, lay down colorful cotton ticking table clothes that border a white runner. You might even want to print out the nautical alphabet and hang them all around for an extra touch of character! A great way to spruce up your tables further would be with some blue Mason jar mugs, or maybe just use clear glass tumblers instead.

You can also ask guests if they’d like to bring along one of their childhood toys as part of this theme – it’ll make for some really interesting photo ops later on when you come back home. Just put everyone’s name in a hat so each person can draw one before leaving! If there are children who will not understand what is going on, first explain how important these special toys are to family history and then ask them to please keep their toys in a safe, secret place.

3. Outdoor Reception in the Park

Struggling to think of a good and inexpensive way to keep your next baptism party outdoors? Consider hosting it at a nearby park that has some amenities like picnic tables, grills, or even water spigots! You can also have guests sit out under trees if there’s going to be enough – just make sure they’re wearing sunscreen! And finally, try asking each person coming whether they’d prefer barbecued hot dogs or hamburgers for dinner – either way will be delicious!

4. Superhero Theme

Another great way to make your baptism party more fun and engaging is by turning it into a superhero-themed event! This idea will be perfect for little boys who already have some fascination with Superman or Spiderman. You’ll need several cardboard boxes, a black marker, and some clear tape to pull this one off – simply ask guests ahead of time if they can bring their old cereal box over on the big day so that you’re able to cut them up beforehand. Then just get out the markers and start drawing away! If necessary, use double-sided tape along the edges where pieces meet before sticking everything together. Repeat until all boxes are covered from top-down with capes coming from each side around the front – then add two holes to the top for wrists and a couple of smaller ones on either side where arms will be able to fit through.

Next, cut out some letters from red construction paper (or any other color you like) and tape them onto each box with their name underneath so that they can stand tall as superheroes when it’s time for pictures! Just make sure everyone uses the bathroom first because this costume is not going to allow much room inside – but your guests won’t mind at all once they see how amazing everything turns out in person. Don’t forget about making masks by drawing eyes and mouths over two holes cut into black headbands just above forehead level – now there isn’t anything stopping anyone from becoming whoever or whatever character they want during photos!

5. Tropical Paradise Theme

If you’re looking for a tropical paradise theme that will put your guests in the right mood, be sure to try out this idea! Coconut palms and banana trees can easily be bought online or at local craft stores – just make sure that everything is set up before everyone arrives so that there’s no waiting. Plus it’ll give guests plenty of time to talk about what they want from their favorite vacation spot while they enjoy some delicious drinks by the poolside.

For starters, go with a blue punch instead of red because nothing says ocean-like deep blues and purples combined. You may even consider adding in some grenadine syrup on top since these two colors tend to mix nicely when shaken – plus purple tastes fantastic if anyone wants a quick drink before dinner! Then go with mini burgers or tacos for an entrée (if you can’t decide, just ask everyone to bring their best dish along) and top it all off by making homemade cupcakes instead of ordering them from a local bakery.

A little bit of lemon extract will work well when added into the frosting mixture – plus any leftover cake crumbs that don’t get eaten up right away can be used as s’mores ingredients over the fire pit afterward while people are waiting in line at the poolside bar. Just make sure there are enough leftovers for everyone because no one likes to miss out on dessert even if they’re stuffed after eating their portion of food – so this is to be a huge hit among guests of all ages!

6. Pixar Theme

If you’re a huge fan of Pixar movies, then why not host your baptism party which is inspired by the animation studio’s most popular characters? This will be an especially great idea if you have kids who are too young to attend as well as those who aren’t planning on having children anytime soon – after all it never hurts to ask! In addition, this theme works for everyone from toddlers and teenagers up through adults so there truly won’t be any complaints.

Here are some Pixar movies that may inspire your party:

Toy Story
Finding Nemo & Finding Dory
Coco
Monster’s Inc. & Monster’s University

For food, try baking some chocolate cupcakes using blue frosting along with yellow sprinkles on top just like Nemo sticking his head out of the water. Then save time by buying pre-made cookies instead since they only require milk or whatever else people usually enjoy dunking their snacks into after they’re done munching. That way, there’s more time to play around with different colors like red and green which will make the table look extra festive for your guests!

For drinks, you can either use soda or fruit punch – this all depends on who is attending since some people don’t drink caffeine while others simply cannot hold their sugar. However, there are plenty of non-alcoholic beverages to choose from which will keep everyone happy and healthy while they’re socializing like juice boxes, flavored waters, or even chocolate milk for the kids!

When it’s time to serve food at your party, you can cut up white bread into triangles to make mini cheese pizzas which will taste just as good as the real thing. And don’t forget about using green grapes for your cheese sticks since these are tasty to eat along with being easy on the eyes!
