Theme Party Ideas for a Fun Homecoming Celebration

People often ask themselves what they should do for their homecoming. It can be hard to figure out, especially if you’re looking for something different than the ordinary. There is so much pressure on this one day, with all of the hype and excitement leading up to it. This blog post will discuss the 12 best homecoming themes for your party in Long Island , that are sure to excite your classmates, parents, administration staff members, and most importantly yourself!

1. The Great Outdoors

The Great Outdoors is a very popular theme that everyone enjoys. It isn’t too crazy, and it doesn’t take much effort to get right into the spirit of things. The advantage of this homecoming theme is that you can either bring camping gear or wear clothes inspired by nature without looking out of place with your classmates.

2. Neon Party

Neon is in, and it’s here to stay. With its bold and flashy colors, neon will make a statement at your homecoming dance. Make sure you check out the color of all your decorations before purchasing! Some stores might not carry every shade or certain lighting could transform them into different hues entirely!

Remember to put the flashiest and brightest color at the front of your name cards and table cloths to add that extra POP!

3. A Celebration of Your Heritage

Homecoming is one of the few opportunities to flaunt your heritage. This theme might be a little controversial but it’s something everyone can relate too!

When you think about it, homecoming is just an opportunity for everyone at school to celebrate together and show how diverse we all are. What better way than by throwing in some cultural dance performances? Even if not performing yourself, come cheer on those who put in so much hard work into their dances and costumes!

You could also add traditional foods or drinks from different cultures onto your menu list as well! Remember though that with every good thing there’s always bad–be careful not to offend anyone along the way when incorporating this theme. It will take up more time and effort compared to other themes but the result is most definitely worth it!

4. I’m a Survivor!

This theme can be applied to not only homecoming but also Prom, Sadie Hawkins, and any other school dance you might go to this year!

If you’re a fan of the show then I’m sure that everyone else is too. Why not take advantage of its popularity? This one’s for all those who love the outdoors as well because we know there will be some camping involved! You could even try your hand at making some DIY supplies like water bottles or mason jars covered in glow paint..just make sure they don’t get confiscated by faculty before arriving on campus. Who knows what kind of dangers lurk around these terrains after all…

For those who aren’t familiar with it: Survivors aren’t always the biggest and the strongest, they’re just those who have made it through all odds despite being weak or small. The show is a constant reminder of how strong we can be when put in tough situations–a perfect theme for any survivor!

5. All White Everything

All white everything is a playful twist on the ‘all black’ dress code. It’s also significantly easier to pull off as compared to its counterpart, and it doesn’t require you to repeatedly buy new clothes for each dance!

White might not be your color but if you can find an alternative shade that complements your skin tone then why not give this one a go? Coordinating with everyone at school could prove difficult with so many varying tones of skin…but hey, no challenge comes without effort right? The more people who join in with their outfits, the easier it will be–so get ready to raid some closets because I’m sure there are plenty of matching pieces knocking around in there already! This theme works well during wintertime or a fall dance.

Remember that while this theme is meant to be playful, it’s still important to keep the dress code in mind–we wouldn’t want anyone getting turned away at the door! Make sure everyone knows what they’re wearing and how far it’s okay for them to go with their outfits beforehand. This way there are no surprises when people get told off by faculty members before even entering the event location!

6. Music Festival Madness

Music festivals are all the rage these days and for good reason! They’re a great way to escape your daily worries–even if just for a couple of days.

You could even go as far as inviting some local bands or DJs onto campus to make this homecoming extra special! Just be careful–promoting an event on campus might require permits from faculty beforehand so keep that in mind. This can turn out to be a costly theme if not done right–so be sure to save up and stay on top of the planning process!

Homecoming is meant for everyone, so we should all get a chance to shine. If you’re thinking about throwing some kind of talent show then why not do so during homecoming instead? Everyone gets at least one performance throughout the night with this approach, but if people want they can always signup for more than a one-time slot as well! Just make sure there’s enough space between each performer or else things could turn messy…but honestly what better way to showcase our talents through dance and music?!

7. Fire & Ice

So what if we took our inspiration from Mother Earth herself? It would also make for some cool pictures with everyone dressed in red and yellow! Just be careful not to burn up under all that heat; no one wants to end up like an extra on Game of Thrones (did you know they filmed this exterior scene during summertime?). You might want to try getting creative with your costumes too since fire can only go so far…ice cream cone hats anyone? They’re cute AF–and who doesn’t love ice cream anyways?!

If you’re feeling especially ambitious then why not hold an event where people get paired off into ‘fire’ and ‘ice’ teams? Challenges could include trivia or maybe some kind of dance contest where people try to cool down while others try and put out the fire!

8. Cosplay

You might want to give the cosplay community a quick google before you make any big decisions about this theme.

There are so many things that come with being part of a fandom–but what if we brought it all together for one night? A homecoming dance filled with anime characters and magical creatures sounds like something straight out of Harry Potter! It’s important to remember though, not everyone shares the same taste as us when it comes to superheroes or cartoons…so be sure everyone is comfortable enough showing up in costume beforehand. After all, there’s no point dressing as your favorite character only to feel uncomfortable throughout the entire event right? While planning activity can prove difficult since people have varying tastes, why not hold a trivia contest where people will have to prove they know their stuff before winning?

The winner of the trivia contest could even get a special prize! Maybe something like a hundred-dollar gift card at Hot Topic or maybe some other store that usually fits with this theme–just make sure not to pick anything too expensive otherwise it’s going to cause tension between students. Or if you want, we could also hold an event where people can show off what they’ve learned and dressed up as beforehand…you never know until you try right?!

9. Miami Night Club

Not everyone will have the money to spend at a club, so it might not go over as well as expected with certain students. The last thing you want people feeling bad about is because they can’t attend one of your events…but there are ways around this! Why don’t we hold an outdoor event instead? It would give us more room for activities and everyone could still enjoy themselves regardless of how much money they have in their pockets. You could even try getting creative by having some kind of performance or show before entering the ‘club’ (it doesn’t need to be a nightclub either!). If nothing else, make sure all of these things are free for anyone who wants to join.

This would also be a good chance for students who don’t have the money but still want to enjoy themselves–it’s not about how much you spend it’s all about having fun!

10. Outer Space

This is probably the easiest theme to organize since it doesn’t need much effort. Just hold an event where everyone gets dressed up as astronauts or anything that relates to space! You could even give people a chance to go into our planetarium (if we have one) and talk about how stars are formed, what planets look like from afar, etc…this would be especially helpful for those who aren’t too familiar with astronomy.

We can also make sure there’s plenty of room outside so students don’t feel anxious over whether or not they’ll fit in their costumes–nothing worse than having limited options because you didn’t want anyone getting claustrophobic at your homecoming dance now did you? That being said, let’s also try and get creative with this theme by holding some kind of activity before the dance.

11. Casino Night

People love the feeling of winning and when you’re at a party what’s better than getting to feel like you’ve won something? Well, maybe just one thing–the satisfaction that comes with having fun while doing so. While there will probably be students who have seen this theme before, why not try coming up with some activities or games that aren’t usually included?

It doesn’t even need to play out how people expect…after all, don’t we always want our twist on things right? For example: instead of being called ‘roulette,’ let’s name it rainbow roulette where everyone picks from different colored cards each color representing their numbers. Then whoever has the most, in the end, gets the prize!

12. Circus/Carnival Night

This is another theme that could be approached in a few different ways, so why not try both? Holding an event where people get dressed up as clowns or other circus characters might seem like it would require quite a bit of effort on everyone’s part…but if you think about it there are already plenty of costumes and outfits students can wear to reflect this at their discretion. There doesn’t need to be some kind of formal dress code for our homecoming right? As long as we have fun I don’t see anything wrong with letting everyone choose what they feel most comfortable wearing–after all isn’t comfort what matters most when spending time with your peers? We could even have some kind of ‘game show’ to give it a true carnival feel. People love the chance at winning something, and what better way than giving them that shot by having games of different kinds (and not just ones where everyone needs to guess how many jellybeans are in a jar)? to make this theme even better you can hire a bounce house rental from us!
